Wai Man "Mandy" Cheung, R. Ac
Mandy studied Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) at the Hong Kong Baptist University for her bachelors degree and at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for her Master's degree. She started her practice in June 2008 and has over 10 years experience in both Acupuncture and TCM.
Mandy believes in helping the body heal naturally without the use of chemical medicine and she loves Acupuncture because it basically has no side effects. Besides Acupuncture, Mandy also uses cupping, Gua-Sha and herbal medicine as treatment methods.
Acupuncture is helpful in alleviating the symptoms of many diseases like musculoskeletal disorders including sciatica, frozen shoulder, ligament sprain, disc disease, osteoarthritis; gynaecology diseases and even preventive treatment through rejuvenation of the body by adjusting the flow of energy and blood.
She speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and English. On her off days, she likes cooking, hiking and reading.
Dr. Tara Jiayun Chen, R. Ac
Dr. Tara holds dual certifications as a healthcare practitioner, making her both a Registered Massage Therapist and a Registered Acupuncturist. She is registered with both the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta and the Canadian Massage & Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association.
Before relocating to Canada, Dr. Tara practiced as a Medical Doctor in China for over a decade, specializing in Cardiovascular and Digestive diseases. Her passion lies in assisting her clients in achieving and maintaining healthy lifestyles, and she's committed to leveraging her combined expertise in Western Medicine and Chinese Medicine to help her patients attain their health objectives.
Dr. Tara has a particular focus on Meridian Acupuncture, Scalp Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture, and Acupressure for addressing a range of issues such as stress, anxiety, insomnia, headaches, digestive disorders, gynecological concerns, skin conditions, and weight management. Her capabilities extend to treating pain stemming from postural imbalances and injuries through her orthopedic assessments and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis.
She has a strong interest in pain management and offers various techniques, including motor points, traditional acupuncture, electrical acupuncture, Tui Na massage, and cupping. Additionally, Dr. Tara provides anti-aging facial treatments through acupuncture, cupping, and Gua Sha techniques, to improve facial muscle tone, skin texture, and drainage (reduce puffiness and age-related blemishes/spots) for her clients.
As an RMT, she is well-versed in therapeutic massage for addressing musculoskeletal disorders. Her array of techniques includes deep tissue massage, myofascial cupping therapy, massage combined with acupuncture, massage paired with acupressure, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) massage, and manual lymphatic drainage massage. When she is not working, she enjoys hiking, reading and cooking healthy meals.
