Naheed Atcha, R. Ac
Naheed has been involved in healthcare for over 22 years. She began her career in healthcare as a Registered Massage Therapist. But 12 years into her career as an RMT, Naheed was introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) while on her own wellness journey. As her own body and spirit began to heal, her fascination with and love of TCM began. She decided to pursue studies in TCM Acupuncture and after 3 years, 2000+ hours and 4 licensing exams with the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine Academy (formerly SSC), she was licensed in 2017 as a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) .
What fascinate her the most about this healing art, is the whole body, mind and spirit approach to wellness. “As an acupuncturist, I am able to treat not only concerns of the musculoskeletal system to alleviate pain and discomforts, but I am able to help my patients heal internally as well”. The scope of an Registered Acupuncturist is broad allowing for internal and external medicine treatments. As a Registered Acupuncturist, Naheed uses acupuncture/acupressure, cupping and GuaSha as the main clinical modalities. She will also advise patients on therapeutic TCM medicinal diet modifications, meditation recommendations and sleep habits.
Naheed welcomes all patients, but has a keen interest in treating those experiencing perimenopausal/ menopausal symptoms and those suffering with anxiety, insomnia and digestive issues. Because TCM and Acupuncture have an effect on the entire body including: the musculoskeletal, endocrine, reproductive, digestive, nervous and circulatory systems, Naheed uses these tools to help the body, mind and spirit to work towards achieving your health and wellness goals.
When not in clinic serving the needs of her patients, Naheed is often home being a “mother of dragons”! Yep, she is a reptile enthusiast and has several 4 legged scaly babies! She also loves to read and garden in her off time and looks forward to planning a TransCanada road trip in the near future. She looks forward to introducing you to TCM and Acupuncture and assisting you in your health and wellness journey.
