Paul T., R. Ac
Paul Thompson is a Registered Acupuncturist, graduating with highest honours (summa cum laude) from Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC. He combines the principles and practices of traditional Chinese medicine with modern scientific knowledge to provide his patients with the best care possible, tailored to their unique needs and goals.
Paul's interest in acupuncture stems from his desire to help people achieve optimal health and wellness in a holistic and natural way. He has a special interest in pain management, hormonal balance, immune support, digestive health, and mentalemotional wellness, and uses a variety of modalities, including acupuncture, cupping, and nutritional counseling, to support his patients in their healing journeys.
With an extensive background in health and wellness, Paul is a patient-centered practitioner, with a compassionate and personalized approach. He is committed to providing the highest level of care and is driven to address the root of health imbalances to help his patients achieve long-lasting and sustainable results.
As a Registered Acupuncturist with the College of TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario, Paul is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical practice.
When not practicing acupuncture, Paul enjoys skiing, hiking, traveling, cooking, and playing bass guitar to stay active and creative.
Xiuyan (Susan) Shang, R. Ac
Susan is a registered member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario. She graduated from International Academy of Applied Health in Ottawa with the Academic Excellence Award in May 2023. She is also a current lecturer of the Acupuncture program at TriOS College.
Susan is dedicated to providing professional and holistic care and treatment to help people in the Ottawa Barrhaven area live healthier and feel better. She provides a wide range of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) services including Acupuncture, Cupping, Guasha (scraping), and Chinese Tuina Massage, catering to a variety of the needs of her patients, especially pain and stress relief, assistance in recovery from trauma and surgeries, as well as reducing symptoms of acute and chronic diseases, and improvement of the quality of life.
Prior to entering the field of TCM and acupuncture, Susan worked as an immigration service officer and high school teacher in Ottawa. She has Master’s Degrees in both Canada and China and possesses excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese. She is very familiar with both the Canadian and Chinese cultures and puts her focus on improving patients’ experience and satisfaction.
