Custom orthotics can make a world of a difference to your health and wellness. Many people think of shoe inserts or insoles when they hear the word ‘orthotics’, but they’re so much more! Designed to address a number of health issues, custom orthotics are actually considered medical devices and covered by many insurance plans.
While orthotics are often recommended for conditions like foot pain, plantar fasciitis, flat feet, bunions or hammertoes, they can also help with discomfort and pain in your legs, knees, hips, back and even your neck. At Massage Addict Toronto Danforth and Broadview, using 3D scanning technology, custom orthotics are molded specifically for your feet, from a semi-rigid material, to provide the support you need to get relief.
With a clean, comfortable, and safe clinic environment, and direct billing to most insurance companies Massage Addict Toronto Danforth and Broadview is the best place for all your Custom Orthotic needs. Book your Custom Orthotics assessment today.

Your first visit?
Your first visit will be a complete orthotic assessment of approximately 30 minutes in length. Completed by a Licensed Chiropractor your assessment will begin with a review of your health history and symptoms, followed by a biometric and gait analysis to determine if Custom Orthotics are right for you. Once assessment is complete, should you benefit from use of custom orthotics, the Licensed Chiropractor will use 3D technology to scan and create a template of your feet for the development of your personal custom orthotics.
Custom Orthotics FAQ
Here are some of the most commonly asked queries about custom orthotics. Need more? Contact Massage Addict Toronto Danforth and Broadview, we'll be more than happy to help.
The more you wear your custom orthotics, the more you’re likely to notice a reduction in pain and discomfort. For people with specific daily activities (like running or playing a certain sport), it’s even worth having a second set of orthotics designed for that activity.
It takes time to get used to custom orthotics—and this makes sense when you think about it. The job of the orthotic is to realign the structure of your foot, but your foot has been used to being out of position for a long time. This correction may lead to pressure in some areas as the orthotic begins to work.
You can work up to wearing your orthotics for longer periods of time by starting small: Wear them in two-hour intervals at first, increasing the wear time over a two-week period.
The only caveat for selecting a pair of shoes is that they must have removeable insoles. You need to be able to remove the insole that comes with a pair of shoes so you can wear your custom orthotics instead.
No, your custom orthotics won’t reduce muscle tone. In fact, because they’re training your feet and legs to use the right muscles more efficiently, your body may actually feel less fatigued.
Custom orthotics can also help in the following ways:
- Provide pain relief for conditions that affect the lower limbs
- Treat orthopedic injuries
- Address biomechanical anomalies
- Redistribute internal and external forces
- Improve balance
